Important announcement

For those not in the know, a lot has gone down in the past few days regarding itchio guidelines on adult content. It came without warning, and it's already affected a lot of games/books/comics/etc, explicit as well as LGBT+(nswf or not) - with works being shadowbanned/de-listed and creators unable to pay out their revenue. Mouthwashing has already been taken down off itchio. (Correction: Mouthwashing has been off itchio since 2024, as it only led to the Steam page, and didn't sell the game itself.) 

Visa and Mastercard have been threatening sites to retract their payment processing if the sites sell what they consider adult/explicit content - and Steam and itchio have both folded to the pressure. Itchio has also updated their adult content guideline, which you can see here: https://itch.io/docs/creators/faq#is-adult-content-allowed

The list is ridiculous and vague, broad enough so that the hammer of puritanical law could be brought down on just about anything. This is censorship.

In light of these developments, I'm unsure if the Bastard of Camelot will be affected, but I don't hold out too much hope. I encourage everyone who enjoys the Bastard of Camelot and wishes to continue playing and follow/keep an eye on the progress of the game to follow me on Tumblr, Patreon and Kofi (you can join Patreon as a free member and Kofi has always had the option to freely follow a page). I will keep BoC on itchio for as long as I can, but taking a look over the de-indexed projects so far, I'm a bit nervous about its future here. No worries - if BoC can no longer be hosted on Itch, I have full plans to create a neocities site to host it myself. BoC is a passion project, but also my livelihood, and all the support and feedback I've received has been wonderful, and I am grateful to you all.
