I know the tag line says "be a villain or a hero" but honestly it's a gross oversimplification of the paths you'll be able to explore, and all the gray areas in between. Besides, I wouldn't say there's a certain way to best enjoy the game - I'm putting effort in all routes and options and alternatives so that any way you play you get a satisfying experience.
At this point in the demo, anyway, Mordred's not a "hero" or "villain" or anything else but a kid growing up, and it's up to you how you want to shape them.
Also, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "prophecy route"? Mordred, regardless of how you play, is born under an ominous prophecy made by Merlin. That's all routes :) How that actually unfolds, we'll see.
Typos aside, it’s so well-written! I love the complexity of the characters. I especially enjoyed how navigating your relationship with Arthur and Accolon was written. Excited to see the rest of the story unfold!

i've done so many playthroughs at this point just to refine my mordred's personality and character, and i can absolutely never bring myself to have mordred be on bad terms with gareth, even though it'd be in-character. he's just such a skrunkly little dude and a great older brother smh

Unfortunately, I do not have tumblr to report this but I think I may have found a bug? If you refuse to perform magic for Gawain after his lute playing in the dragon hut, the options use magic still appears. If this has been fixed whilst you were working on chapter 4 then forget that!
I have a few questions about the finished game in the future if you do not mind. Will it be in a html download format to play offline whenever? Also, I saw that you plan 4 books in Mordred's story. Will this be 4 separate games that we can import previous data to, like supernatural, or will it be one long game separated into parts?

Yes, the finished game will be available to download. Each book will be a different game and you'll be able to import data from the previous instalment.
Hi thanks for replying (and so fast too, I didn't expect that)! I went through again to see if it worked this time and it did. It is possible that I had an older version as I'd ran it and left the tab open to try out after I'd finished my work, by the time I'd got around to trying BoC a few days had passed. You must have patched it during that time in between. I thought I'd reloaded the page but I guess not. Sorry to cause extra work for you but thank you for checking nonetheless! It really shows how much you care about this project and I can appreciate that.
And that's great about the downloadable option in the future. I'd be happy to buy it when book 1 is done and I prefer to actually own a copy of what I spend my money on. I do have mixed feelings about it being released book by book, but that's my own petty issue (I don't want to wait for the whole story but I do get to play it earlier than I would if you has released it as one long game. A conundrum indeed!)

Was so excited to see this one update! Been in love with this IF since it first came about and glad to see so much more love and effort poured into it. As always I love the variety of options that allow emotions and actions to feel so much more fleshed out, as well as the occasional change in POV that really give more depth to key moments! Amazing work as always!
From the beginning to the end, the Bastard of Camelot is a masterpiece of a story. Parent-child relationship with Morgana as best mom and Accolon as best dad are my favourite parts of the story to read.Gawain is a sweetheart but Nimue is my Mordred's first childhood crush (sorry Gawain).
Accolon as best dad I am 100% on board with, but Morgana as best mum? Really? I get that her backstory justifies some of her actions but her unremitting bitterness towards Arthur despite him being the father of her child disqualifies her as best mum in my eyes.
Also, let's not forget that Mordred is not just the product of incest, but of rape. Arthur makes it clear that he never would have slept with Morgana had he known she was his half sister, a fact she knew and concealed from him. Not allowing him all the information needed for him to consent is a type of rape.
First off, it's just my opinion? (I have no idea why we are having a discussion on the comment section right now but oh well)
Second, if i have to explain my opinion, I'm not saying Morgana is a good person(hell no she is not no matter what past she may have had) but as a mother she is 100% a good one. Granted she may not be perfect what with her bitterness (part of it being: no matter the circumstances, arthur just abandons and doesn't even show up his face to his kid in years and somehow later he has a change of heart and wants to be a father to the kid? hell no! it's bad and destructive for the child's psychological health (she thinks she is protecting her child like any other mother on the planet would)) but she neither abandons her children nor does she fail to show her love for both of them every single time. An imperfect but passionate mother who will do everything for her children.
In the end, you have an opinion and i have an opinion. i don't impose my opinion on you nor should you impose your opinions on the story to me (i'm not saying you are but i'm writing this just in case).
I have no words to explain how AMAZING this game is. It's so well written, I've cried and smiled so many times. My financial situation right now isn't looking good but as soon as I have money I'll support the game.

Galahad really annoyed me at first, until I realised he was only two years older than Mordred. I had imagined him as mid-teens, but knowing he's only twelve at the time makes it much easier to realise he's just parroting back the opinions of his father. That, combined with the character growth we see happening in chapter three, is really bringing me around on him.
